Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OpenCrawl (“OpenCrawl,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you useopencrawl.fun and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you acknowledge this Policy.

1. Who we are

OpenCrawl is an AI visibility measurement product. We help website owners understand whether AI crawlers can access their sites and how often those sites appear in AI-generated answers to buyer-intent questions.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive authentication data through our auth provider (Supabase), which may include your email address, name, and profile avatar URL. We store a corresponding user record in our database.

Billing information

Paid plans are processed by Dodo Payments. We store subscription status and customer identifiers needed to manage entitlements. Payment card details are handled by the payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Project and scan data

To run the Service, we collect and store:

  • Project names, domains, and URLs you configure
  • Custom prompt baselines you create for visibility checks
  • Scan results, including crawlability audit data, prompts used, AI answers, citations, scores, competitor signals, and related report content
  • Exports you generate (for example PDF, CSV, JSON, or ZIP)

Technical and usage data

Like most web services, our hosting and infrastructure providers (including Cloudflare) may process IP addresses, request metadata, device or browser information, and logs needed for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar storage primarily for authentication, including:

  • Session cookies managed by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in
  • A short-lived redirect cookie used during Google OAuth to return you to the correct page after login

We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate users and manage accounts and subscriptions
  • Run crawlability and visibility scans you request, including querying third-party AI and search providers with prompts related to your projects
  • Generate reports, history, and downloads
  • Process payments and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Communicate about the Service, billing, and material policy changes
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

4. AI processing and website crawling

When you run a scan, OpenCrawl may fetch publicly available content from the website you configured, using identifiable crawler user-agents (including an OpenCrawl user-agent that referencesopencrawl.fun). We may also send prompts and related context to third-party providers (such as OpenAI and Exa) to collect visibility evidence. Those providers process data under their own privacy policies and terms.

Do not configure websites or prompts that involve personal data you are not authorized to process.

5. How we share information

We share information with:

  • Service providers that help us run the product (for example Supabase, Cloudflare, Google Auth, Dodo Payments, OpenAI, and Exa)
  • Professional advisors or authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
  • A successor if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate continuity of privacy protections

We do not sell your personal information. Scan reports and exports are available to you through your account; we do not publish your private project data as a public directory.

6. Data retention

We retain account, project, and scan data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete projects or your account (or when data is otherwise removed through our normal deletion flows), related records may be deleted or anonymized in accordance with our database cascading rules and backup cycles. Billing records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including hosting on reputable cloud infrastructure and restricting access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International processing

We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where our infrastructure operates. If you access the Service from another region, your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Export scan and project data available through the Service

You can update some information through your Google account and OpenCrawl project settings, download scan exports where available, and request further help by contacting us. If you signed in with Google, disconnecting or revoking OpenCrawl access in your Google account settings will affect future sign-in.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or email when appropriate.

12. Contact
